Federation offices and chess groups in Istanbul 3

Turkish chess is organised through the federation’s provincial and district offices, and in Istanbul they are the ones that keep the calendar together. The Istanbul provincial office publishes the city’s tournament announcements, holds the provincial championships and closes each season with the Istanbul rapid and blitz championships; no page read gives its seat. District offices organise locally: the Maltepe office runs a district championship for the youngest players and a series of tournaments with the district youth and sports directorate at Ritim İstanbul.

Groups formed around a profession play their own events too. The chess group of the Istanbul Medical Chamber runs a numbered tournament named after Medicine Day, held together with the federation’s Istanbul office. These cards do not describe places to drop in; they are the bodies to follow for dates, rules and registration, and their pages are usually the first to announce a new event.
