Cafés that host chess in Istanbul 5

Istanbul cafés come into chess mostly as tournament hosts. İstiklal Satranç Spor Kulübü has taken its numbered series around the city’s cafés, to Mekan İyi Fikir and Balon Cafe in Kadıköy and Marti Kafe in Maltepe, and Göktürk and Poseidon have also played at Mekan İyi Fikir. In Beşiktaş, Teayatro Tea and Art Shop in Sinanpaşa has held chess events under the title Komün64 & Teayatro in June and July.

What the listings show is the date of the last event at each café, not a regular hour when boards are out. Arkadaş Satranç Kafe in Kadıköy is the only café whose name is about the game; a directory review says chess and backgammon are played there, but no dated event confirms it. If you want a game rather than a tournament, ask the café first whether boards are kept on the tables.
